He has been a Software Design Engineer at Microsoft Corporation, Sunburst Communications, Inc., and Lexia Learning Systems, Inc.; a faculty member at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Dartmouth College (Educational Neuroscience program); and an educational consultant to schools, non-profit organizations, the federal government, and corporations.

Sandra Cortesi is a Fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and the Director of Youth and Media. She is responsible for coordinating the Youth and Media’s policy, research, and educational initiatives, and is leading the collaboration between the Berkman Klein Center and UNICEF.

Alexa is a Ph.D. student at Tufts Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development. At Eliot-Pearson, Alexa is a member of the Developmental Technologies Research Group, where she explores ways to cultivate young childrens (ages 4-7) understanding of computation through engaging moral, cognitive, and social-emotional dimensions.

Achilleas Kostoulas is an early-career academic currently working toward the completion of his Ph.D. at the University of Manchester, UK. His research uses a complexity lens to describe English Language Education at the periphery of the English speaking world, with a particular focus on issues of power, hegemony, and culturally appropriate methodology. He has an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (University of Manchester, UK) and a B.A. in English Studies (Athens, Greece).
Stephen Slota

Stephen is an adjunct professor and Ph.D. candidate in Educational Psychology at the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. His primary research interests include the situated nature of play for academic achievement and prosocial learning through MMORPGs.

Dr. Sylvan’s lifelong interest is in sociotechnical systems that support creativity, shared knowledge, and collaboration. This background allows Dr. Sylvan to spearhead new programs and educational initiatives and to support the center to work in a more integrated and collaborative manner.
