Glyn Elwyn, clinician, and researcher, is the co-director of the Coproduction Laboratory within The Dartmouth Institute. He leads an international interdisciplinary team to examine the implementation of shared decision making into clinical settings, using innovative tools and measures, such as collaboRATE, a patient experience measure of shared decision making, and Observer OPTION-5, for use on recorded data. He developed Option Grids™ patient decision aids, tools designed to support collaboration between clinicians and patients, licensed to EBSCO in 2017. More recently he has investigated the impact of patients’ recording their visits to clinical encounters, and how this might enhance their role in decision-making.
