Joseph A. Ilacqua, Ed.D., Professor of Economics at Bryant College, specializes in Economic Transition, Economic Education, and Economic Impact Study. He has done far-reaching research and intervention in these fields in America and the former Soviet Union. He has numerous scholarly publications and papers in these fields and in recent years has produced research reports on the economic impact of the Port of Providence, fuel import in to Providence and the economic impact of Alex and Ani® on the State of Rhode Island. In addition, Professor Ilacqua has extensive experience in the field of economic, political and cultural transition in newly independent nations and China. He had lead roles in the United States Department of Defense (DOD) to study the issue of Defense Conversion in the United States and in the former Soviet Union, in the United States Department of Energy Initiatives for Proliferation Prevention (DOE-IPP) training and teaching manual project on Financial Accountability at Institutes in Russia, and in the Department of State Community Connection Program, bringing managers from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine to the Rhode Island for cultural and business training experiences.
