M. Serkan Akturk is an Assistant Professor of Management Science at Clemson University, College of Business. He holds a B.S. degree in Systems Engineering from Turkish Military Academy, MBA in Financial Management from Naval Postgraduate School, and PhD in Information and Operations Management from Texas A&M University, Mays Business School. At Clemson University, Dr. Akturk currently teaches Intermediate Business Statistics, MGT 3100. Previously, he taught undergraduate level Operations and Supply Chain Management course (SCMT 364) at Texas A&M University. Dr. Akturk's research appeared in leading academic journals such as Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, IISE Transactions, and Omega – The International Journal of Management Science. Dr. Akturk has presented his research at the annual conferences of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), and Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). He is also a member of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM), INFORMS Service Science, and the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). Currently, Dr. Akturk serves as Associate Editor (AE) for Decision Sciences Journal, and as reviewers for Manufacturing & Service Operations Management (MSOM), Journal of Operations Management (JOM), Production and Operations Management (POM), and Omega - The International Journal of Management Science.
